The ISLAND DEAF & HARD OF HEARING CENTRE (IDHHC)

What:

The Island Deaf & Hard of Hearing Centre’s Vision is: Strong inclusive communities built on equal access and empowered individuals.
Through the Family and Community outreach, Employment, Interpreting/Captioning and Hearing Health services, support is available for Deaf, Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing individuals and their families. IDHHC offers life skill development, home based ASL instruction, coordination of sign language interpreting and captioning services, workshops and presentations, employment support as well as a full audiology clinic. IDHHC’s Sound of Change Program provides FREE refurbished hearing aids to vulnerable and at-risk populations including low-income seniors and adults. Possible grant funding available for employed individuals needing hearing aids. Please contact us for more information.
